Working on behalf of a small sustainability consultancy, we developed Corporate Responsibility procurement guidelines (including environmental, socio-economic and human rights impacts) for eight product categories to help procurement professionals meet corporate sustainability objectives. The categories were: paper; telecommunications; electronic equipment; catering supplies; energy; taxi and courier services; cleaning supplies; and waste and recycling. We researched current best practice in each category for each CR aspect, with examples of acceptable evidence. Guidelines were designed for non-specialist procurement managers to build understanding of CR issues; stimulate good practice, manage risk and comply with international legislation and standards in contract negotiations.
“Susie worked with me as a consultant to produce global corporate responsibility procurement standards for a multi-national client. The project required a deep understanding of global sustainability issues, thorough research and a quick turnaround. Susie delivered excellent work on all fronts, was very reliable and a pleasure to work with.”
